Music for Eternity (Part 1)

“True friendship resists time, distance, and silence.” — Isabel Allende

Recently I wrote a post about NASA’s Voyager spaceship which, as planned, will soon lose contact with the NASA team that’s been tracking it. It carries a number of artifacts from Earth, including a selection of recorded music. I was fascinated by the idea of how to select music that might represent our human civilization and asked readers who were interested to share pieces they would have chosen.

Two old friends are providing their selections today. I will share others you have sent over the next several weeks.

In order to enjoy the music, please click the link at the top of the text in this email which will take you to the Just A Thought website. Or Click Here.

Here are:

Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, selected by Sarah Puckett

Us and Them by Pink Floyd, selected by Myles Stapleton

Enjoy!

P.S. If you haven’t already, please feel free to send me your music selections.
